I would like to request that we move forward with yet another amendment to remove <parent on the roll at the time of applicant9s birth= from the enrollment requirements. I believe it is time to ox this injustice! Having siblings 4 one being able to enroll and not the other 4 is ludicrous! Simply because they were born during Termination! Or their parent couldn9t enroll because of the quan- tum requirement prior to Termination. Things they could not have done anything about. My thought is that this isn9t even constitutional. I know that most of you would like to see this oxed as well, but we just haven9t had the votes. I think that it would be great: 1) To have informational meetings so that people can see what this actually looks like; 2) That it could be introduced as a single item on the amendment this time. I know that is important to a lot of people; 3) That members have ample time to return BIA applications to vote; 4) That members have ample time to return election ballots as well; 5) Finally, that members actually vote on this to get this passed. These votes require a two-thirds vote and everyone has to vote to get this passed. Failure to vote is uncompassionate, especially on this issue. So please take the time to vote! Make your voices heard. Thank you all for taking the time to listen to my request. Many families and children are being denied access to medical and dental care, denied education, Tribal recognition and many other services that their brothers and sisters are getting, and it just isn9t right!
